SUGAR Cosmetics | Eye Shadow Quad in ESCAPADE

Sugar Cosmetics has grown fast and popular in no time at all.. and for all the right reasons!
They boast about being free from parabens, D5, oil, mineral oil and nano-ingredients; with best quality possible.

I am a complete fan of the brand and make it a point to try atleast a product (if not more) from every range they come up with.
The lipsticks have to be one of the best formula out there (including the high end brands) and the price and the colour range they have, it's simply ah-mazing!

The indian market sadly does not have good matte eyeshadows. PAC has come up with singles recently. Or else other brands offer entire palette, which have a mix of textures.

When Sugar came up with eyeshadows, it was a no brainer that I had to grab Escapade! All mattes and it looked perfect and totally my type.
For those like me, who aren't into experimenting much with eyeshadows and rely on matte neutral shadows, this one is a dream come true.

Firstly the shades! All 4 shades are definitely wearable and more importantly suits indian skintone.

Texture - Buttery soft and quite powdery. The colours show up great on the lids and is buildable as required which is great. Coz for me personally I just like a light wash of colour on my lids for office. And hence I always prefer the buildable ones. Even though these are extreme soft, I haven't faced fall out with the 3 lighter shades I've used. I haven't used the deepest shade on the Bottom Right. So I shall probably update on that later.
I use myfingers mostly since I only go with one all over colour. But it works just as fine with brushes too.

Top Left - A neutral taupe with slight mauve undertone. A beautiful transition shade. I use this just to neutralise my lids and bring some dimension to my eyes. This shade is very close to my favourite "Brady" from colourpop, with the same slight mauve undertone, only a shade lighter and in powder form. LOVE!

Bottom Left - A coral peach shade. The shade is not as bright on the lips one first application (as compared to the hand swatch) but can be built up, which is a good thing. I love it more as a blush really! (I know you thought of it too!)

Top Right - A pretty plum shade. Quite pigmented. Just a slight soft touch and it gives beautiful pigmentation. But the shade is so that if not applied properly looks like you've been punched!

Bottom Right - An almost black but actually a deep deep plum shade. Haven't tried this shade on the lids yet. Seems like a nice change from the stark black.

To top it off the packaging is smart, sleek, compact, neat and the best part ultra light. A breeze to carry along... even your jeans back pocket if required! This has definitely become my go to travel pallete. The hard plastic ones are really a pain to carry when you already have more than necessary makeup to carry ;)

I think it's a must buy and another hit from Sugar!

Colourpop Haul | Blush | EyeShadow

I have subscribed everywhere possible to keep my eyes and ears wide open for whenever Colorpop has free shipping. Fortunately or unfortunately, it only happens twice or so in a year. Fortunately because otherwise, I’d be broke. Unfortunately because it should be available in India at their original prices!!
Anyhoo, needless to say, I love the brand. Such good quality in such affordable prices.
I had promised myself not to get more lippies after my last order (haul and swatches here and here). I did cheat though. Got 1 Liquid Lipstick in satin finish.

So here's the first look...

BLUSH
The texture is almost mousse like which when applied has a light powder finish. It’s a love child of a cream and powder blush. Which is perfect for all weathers. Powder blush don’t last long during summers ‘coz of sweat and excessive wiping of the face. Hence a creamy texture tends to last longer. In winters, the skin is already dry, a cream blush gives a beautiful finish without looking chalky or too dry.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek - Left: Birthday Suit (Satin) and Right: Holiday (Matte)
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in 'Birthday Suit' in Satin Finish

Birthday Suit: Satin finish. Had been eyeing this forever! It is THE most natural blush for my skin tone. When I’m out in the hot sun or too cold, I naturally flush to this shade. The shade is so damn natural and blends like a dream. I have always loved using a blush, but for everyday use, I don’t like it to be visible. This one gives a perfect flush to the cheeks which immediately brightens the face and gives a “from within” kinda life to the cheeks.

Holiday: Aptly named. A bright coral shade. Perfect for holidays where you’d want a bright flushed face. This needs to be used with a tender hand. However it blends beautifully.

EyeShadows
The texture is again a cross between cream and powder. It spreads and blends beautifully. The colour doesnot appear patchy. It’s just plain beautiful.
Colourpop EyeShadow in 'Brady'
Colourpop Eye Shadow in 'Sequin'

Brady: For everyday office wear, I love using this all over my eye lids. It is a lovely subtle shade just by itself or as a base. Blends beautifully. Stays almost 9-10 hours on me!

Sequin: This one's perfect for night outs and weddings. Has beautiful glitters which are not too chunky. However this does not blend as easily as Brady. Need to work quick with this, coz if it sets it's difficult to blend it. Nonetheless, the shade is gorgeous!

Other than these I also got another liquid lipstick in satin finish in 'Chandelier', a brow pencil in 'brunette' and a free Eye Shadow brush!! Could not click pictures since I didn't have them at the time...

Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette - Run Boy Run

A very very VERY long due post. I've been meaning to complete this but for some reason or the other (read procrastination) this just remained in my drafts for over 6 months now. Very ashamed. But on a brighter note, this gives me ample time to use this and review properly and give you guys the correct analysis.

I am super impressed with the packaging. It is very sturdy and comes with a huge mirror. Comes with an applicator with a sponge tip on both ends. The palette in itself is very sleek and compact and hence ideal for traveling. Over time, due to use, the palette may start looking dirty but I don't mind that. I think of it as #wellloved.

The shadows are one of the best quality shadows in  the market.
I love it! To bits. I am forever addicted to Makeup revolution palettes. (Atleast powder palettes). This palette literally made me want to put an effort and wear eyeshadows on most days then ever. Has definitely solved a lot of issues which I shall get to in a while.
Also this made me buy a blush palette which I adore!!! Read all about this beauty here.

Price: Rs 1350. /-

Makeup revolution Salvation palette - Run Boy Run

Makeup revolution Salvation palette - Run Boy Run

This palette has a total of 18 shades. Out of which 12 shadows (first 2 rows) are shimmer and sheens. And the bottom row comprises of 6 matte shades. The shades are named quite long but kinda cute. I like long names anyday than just numbers.

These blend like a dream. They donot look chalky no matter how light the shade is. Even the matte ones blend beautifully.
The shimmer and sheen shades i.e the top and middle row have amazing pigmentation. Just one swipe gives good pigmentation. However the matte shades are not as much pigmented but they are still great.

There's very little to almost no fallout with this. From what I've experienced, it depends on the brush I'm using. With Real techniques brushes there's no fallout. But with other (not so great quality) brushes, I find minimal fall out.

It's difficult to find such palettes in the indian market at such reasonable rates.
Makeup revolution has other variants in Salvation line. All worth checking out. I was basically looking for matte shadows which also had a black matte hence chose this particular palette.

So let's go over each shade...

Makeup Revolution Ultra Professional Blush Palette in Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold

Ever seen something so beautiful, that you skipped a beat?
Sighed or even gasped out loudly? Me... It happened the first time I saw Taj Mahal. Then, when I saw Hrithik in the song 'Kyun chalti hai pawan...' , when I first saw my super boss in the first company I worked in... The moments started fazing off as I grew older and wiser even. I haven't really had any such exaggerated moments until very recently.

I was looking for a golden highlighter and a pink one. And while searching for those I came across this palette which was named 'ROSE GOLD'. I mean, need I say more? Filsalna to tha hi..!

It's priced Rs.1350/- Buy it here.
I looked up for its swatches and I was already in love. I couldn't buy this any faster.
And open it even faster!! (On receiving it ofcourse.) Trust me, it even made the "Elizabeth Bennet" in me go "Oh My!" and all drama-queen-like.

I couldn't stop staring at it. I couldn't touch it for the longest time...scared that I'd ruin it.

Just look at those colours. I didn't care how the product was, I was already in love.
But yeah, for blog-sake, I shall curb in my smitten self and TRY to give a non-biased review.

Firstly, This palette claims to be a Blush, Contour and Highlighter palette. It ofcourse can be used as eye shadows too.
Just like other Makeup Revolution Palettes, The pigments are extremely soft to feel and a dream to blend in.

What I noticed first was the mirror! Look at the size! Great to travel with. The packaging is very sturdy.
Secondly, this palette will work for all skin tones. Since most of the colours are gold based and warm toned, these are best suited for Indian skin.
For girls with deeper and richer tones who usually struggle to find a good highlighter which actually show up on their cheeks or don't look too harsh, this is a dream come true!

The first four colours are pink/peach/mauve tones. Great blushes and highlighters. These look great on cool tones..

1) A rose pink shade with an almost satin finish. Works great as a blush.
2) An icy peachy pink shade with frosty shimmer. Works well as a highlighter. Will look beautiful on cooler skin tones.
3) A warm toned peachy pink shade. Looks great as a blush cum highlighter. Looks fab on Warm skin tone.
4) A cool toned pink with silver glitter. Works as a blush but eventually the colour fades off leaving silver shimmer. If applied properly and lightly, I like the effect. On wintry days it gives a nice glow.

The right quartet is brown based and amazing for richer and deeper skin tones.

5) Out and out golden highlighter. Looks amazing if applied with a light touch. It's a very yellow gold, hence can look extreme if applied heavily. This requires a very light hand.

6) This is my favourite!!! Not gold but copper! Looks Ah-mah-zing on Indian skin tone. I apply this very lightly as a highlighter. But I love using this as an eyeshadow. It looks gorgeous with ethnic outfits! It looks a bit harsh in the swatch below. But it blends in completely with very slight shimmer. I was scared, this would have chunky glitters but these pigments blends in like a dream.

7) A bronzer shade with slight shimmer. The shimmer does not really show up but gives a sheen if built up while using it as a blush. A great crease or blending eyeshadow shade.

8) A complete matte bronzer shade. A very light for everyday bronzing shade. Works great as an eyeshadow too.

Needless to say, I love this palette!
Makeup revolution houses some amazing powder pigments at reasonable prices and quality that match high end products.

If you are looking for some shimmery Highlighters/ blush/ eye shadows, pick this up without a doubt.
Can't get over the copper shade!! It's Beautiful!!

Online Haul December'15

Hey guys! It's been ages since I last posted. A baby does that to you. Oh yeah, I had a baby last month on the 4th of Nov'15. And it's been a task..I wont lie. But at the end of the day, it's definitely all worth it. So December being my bday month, with holidays round the corner and not to forget SALEs everywhere, it's difficult not to binge in a little. Although I had promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more makeup for the next 4 mnths (atleast; coz you see I'm of 'em hoarders who buys everything but wears none :|), however birthday haul to banta hai!

So, here goes...

1) Iphone 5S pink glitter waterfall cover -  Can we just please take a moment here. How pretty is that?!? I needed that in my life. And no, I don't think I'm old enough for glitter. No girl ever is!
it even looks rose-goldish in certain lighting. #Obsessed !!
The quality is good enough does not look or feel flimsy.
Bought this from amazon HERE.  Also available in ebay and flipkart.
Price - Rs.350/-

2) Makeup Revolution London Palette in RUN BOY RUN -  I needed a nude palette which had matte shades and specifically a pigmented matte black shadow. Narrowed on this. First impression, it feels quite soft and smooth. Like the feel of it. Bought this from NYKAA.
MRP - Rs. 1350 After discount - Rs.1013/-

3) Loreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara - Have heard rave reviews about this one. So thought of trying it since it was on sale. I have only ever used Maybelline mascaras as yet. So pretty excited for this one and hoping it'll work for me. Bought this from NYKAA along with the Revolution palette.
MRP - Rs.795/-  After discount - Rs.636/-

4) Beauty Heaven Lip Bombs - See those cute EOS lip balm look alikes? I did too on Shopclues. So ofcourse I had to buy them to check them out. Found 3 variants. Bought them all.

Being pregnant and all I couldn't even scrounge through the city in search of these. I finally found them on shopclues. Bought them a tad bit pricier than it actually is. But frankly I didn't mind shelling out that extra since they're still cheaper than NYX ones which "also" I cant find anywhere!! If you know where to find either Miss claire/NYX soft matte lip cream in Kolkata, plzzz do lemme know in the comments below.
Price - Rs.399/
In mumbai you can get it for Rs.150/- Can't you mumbai girls courier it to us here?!? Spread the love guys!

That's all for now folks. Which ones have you tried out of these?
