SUGAR Cosmetics | Eye Shadow Quad in ESCAPADE

Sugar Cosmetics has grown fast and popular in no time at all.. and for all the right reasons!
They boast about being free from parabens, D5, oil, mineral oil and nano-ingredients; with best quality possible.

I am a complete fan of the brand and make it a point to try atleast a product (if not more) from every range they come up with.
The lipsticks have to be one of the best formula out there (including the high end brands) and the price and the colour range they have, it's simply ah-mazing!

The indian market sadly does not have good matte eyeshadows. PAC has come up with singles recently. Or else other brands offer entire palette, which have a mix of textures.

When Sugar came up with eyeshadows, it was a no brainer that I had to grab Escapade! All mattes and it looked perfect and totally my type.
For those like me, who aren't into experimenting much with eyeshadows and rely on matte neutral shadows, this one is a dream come true.

Firstly the shades! All 4 shades are definitely wearable and more importantly suits indian skintone.

Texture - Buttery soft and quite powdery. The colours show up great on the lids and is buildable as required which is great. Coz for me personally I just like a light wash of colour on my lids for office. And hence I always prefer the buildable ones. Even though these are extreme soft, I haven't faced fall out with the 3 lighter shades I've used. I haven't used the deepest shade on the Bottom Right. So I shall probably update on that later.
I use myfingers mostly since I only go with one all over colour. But it works just as fine with brushes too.

Top Left - A neutral taupe with slight mauve undertone. A beautiful transition shade. I use this just to neutralise my lids and bring some dimension to my eyes. This shade is very close to my favourite "Brady" from colourpop, with the same slight mauve undertone, only a shade lighter and in powder form. LOVE!

Bottom Left - A coral peach shade. The shade is not as bright on the lips one first application (as compared to the hand swatch) but can be built up, which is a good thing. I love it more as a blush really! (I know you thought of it too!)

Top Right - A pretty plum shade. Quite pigmented. Just a slight soft touch and it gives beautiful pigmentation. But the shade is so that if not applied properly looks like you've been punched!

Bottom Right - An almost black but actually a deep deep plum shade. Haven't tried this shade on the lids yet. Seems like a nice change from the stark black.

To top it off the packaging is smart, sleek, compact, neat and the best part ultra light. A breeze to carry along... even your jeans back pocket if required! This has definitely become my go to travel pallete. The hard plastic ones are really a pain to carry when you already have more than necessary makeup to carry ;)

I think it's a must buy and another hit from Sugar!

Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in Plum Yum Swatch and Review

A fair warning, I personally am not a fan of liquid lipsticks. I have super dry and chapped lips. So extreme that they bleed and actually hurt! It's kinda gross. Moreover I don't like the lines showing up on my lips which usually happens with liquid lipsticks. Not a cute look. And then it goes all crumbly after few hours. So the situation gets like, I can't re-apply on it 'coz it just gets gross-ier. Frankly I can't take the pain to carry a makeup remover wherever I go in case I need to re-apply it. As a result, I usually avoid wearing liquid lipstick when I know I'll be out for long (which negates the entire claim about liquid lippies)

Sugar Cosmetics has come out with another range this new year. Ofcourse it HAS to be a liquid lipstick. This range has 10 shades. I love the Matte as Hell Crayon Lipsticks and It's a-pout time vivid lipsticks. So obviously I had to try the liquid lipstick to see if they could keep up to their own standards! *not becoz I'm a hopeless shopaholic ofcourse!*

Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks - Plum Yum

Price: Rs.499/-

I am quite impressed that they have priced this range quite reasonably. However I am kinda upset with the packaging. These look exactly like Maybelline's Color Sensational Velvet matte lipsticks. Got to say the Maybelline ones are far more sturdier.

This feels very light and plastic-ky in hand. I find the applicator very wobbly. The sponge is soft enough and does not poke the lips or anything but it's very bendy. It has a round bottom (unlike many wands) which I'm guessing holds the excess product and hence keeps the wand clean, also saves wastage of the product. Let's see if I'm right about that.

These are NOT silicone or paraben free, if you're particular about that.

Now coming to main part. The product is sweet smelling. Not chemical-y thankfully, which lots of liquid lippies tend to have.

The actual product looks nothing like in the tube when applied on the lips or even on the hand.
Just one dip was enough for, my entire lips and the desired pigmentation. I did not have to dip the wand twice. Do you see the lip swatch below? That's just one layer of product.
It dried completely matte very quickly and once dried, it literally is smudge proof.

Smudge Proof, Transferproof, Waterproof. Fades just a little after having an oily meal.

The product is sooo light on the lips. Half the time I forget I have this on. I had this on for almost 7-8 hours. By the end of 6-7 hours, it started fading. I took it off 'coz I was done for the day. But it would've easily lasted for another hour at the least.
Best of all, even after 8 hours, it did not completely dry my lips or give that gross stretchy feeling. Nor did it crumble. My lips were comfortable and I could do without a lip balm.

Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipsticks - Plum Yum Time test

Please excuse the blurred not so great quality pic above, since these were taken in not so appropriate lighting. But just to give you an idea about the pigmentation and stay. I wore the lipstick at 2:00pm and washed it off at 10:00pm. Between which I had oily meals, snacks, loads of water and also kissed my baby say a million times. And I did not re-touch it.

The shade Plum Yum, I feel is so versatile. It'll look great on every skin tone. And will go with everything.

I really want to try the shade 'Tan fan' and 'Rust Lust' too..oooh! and 'Brazen Raisin'!

These lippies are LOVE! Maybe they've cut on the packaging cost to provide a better quality product. If so, I'm all for it. The quality of these can give some of the best liquid lipsticks a run for their money and that includes the high end ones too.

Definitely give these a try. Sugar Cosmetics never seem to let down. More power to Indian brands!!

FAB BAG January'2017

All my fellow subscribers will know the excitement one feels when you receive the Fab Bag in your mail, I'm sure. Very happy that the first bag for this year reached me in the first week itself.

It took me roughly a min and half to cut open the box and there inside lied this ruby colored clutch style bag. So this time the bag is different. Honestly, I like the colour but the material is quite flimsy. And since it is a clutch style, not much stuff can be stored in it. I like their pouch styles with chain. I use them to store stuff and they even look pretty on my vanity. But this one...nahh. This bag will probably go to my 3 yr old niece.

Without any more blabber, let's dig in...

1) O3+ Derma Fresh Mask- Very excited about this product. I don't own any of their products personally but I got O3+ facials done a couple of times and loved it. Plus it's a decent size to test out the product. Looking forward to this one.

2) M[Caffeine] Neem Caffeine Face wash - Again a decent sized sample. Quite happy about that. The ingredients seem sans harmful chemicals. Let's hope this works.

3) Nature's Co White tea Night Cream - Honestly, I am very skeptical about this one. 'Coz all previous Nature's Co products that I have tried failed...miserably! I usually steer clear of this brand. But I have heard few bloggers raving about this one so let's hope this is 'the' product to change my mind about this brand.

\

4) Wella EIMI LightWeight BB lotion - What? BB lotion for hair? or is it? Not mentioned on the packaging. huh. I shall assume since it's Wella, it's gotta be fot hair. I'll probably just get 2 usage out of it.

5) Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Lip Crayon in Rose Dawson - This is the product I selected. There were Manna Lip crayons too which cost a bomb (almost 1800/-)!! But I wanted this shade and I played safe knowing what I was gonna get. I love these crayons. These can give most of the high end brands a run for their money.

So that's all. I quite liked the products. Even the sample sizes are enough to actually test the products.

Favourite Lipsticks for Fall/Winter'16

My favourite lipsticks for the Fall/Winter season!

To check the collected swatches you could scroll down directly. For those who want a detailed post, get comfortable. Here goes...

1) Revlon Just bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey 001
 [Price: Rs.750/-]

It's a dusty pink color. As the name suggests, when applied it has a balmy texture but soon sets in as a stain. It's settles into a very pretty mauvy-pink shade. Subtle with a hint of color. I always find myself gravitating towards this shade when I'm in a hurry and don't want too much fuss. This shade goes with everything!
It has a minty scent and feel to it when applied. The scent or the tingly feeling doesn't stay too long in case you're not a fan of mints. The moisturizing effect stays hardly for an hour on me. But the stain lasts pretty long. The darker shades of this range last even longer.

You can buy it here.

2)  Sugar Vivid Matte lipstick in Mad Magenta
[Price: Rs.599/-]

I jumped right on that Sugar Bandwagon and am super glad about it!
I LOVE their matte as hell crayon lipsticks more for the formula. This range also claims to be matte. However, by the swatch below you can see it's not flat out matte but has a creamy sheen to it. It slowly sets in more as a stain on the lips.Very comfortable to wear though. Not transfer proof but long wearing. It stays on me for 4-5 hours. After which it leaves a pretty stain which eventually fades off evenly.

Buy it here.

3) Lakme Absolute Lip Tint Matte in Magenta Magic
[Price: Rs.650/-]

A deep rich rosy magenta shade with mauve undertone.
This is my favourite matte texture and formula out of all the lipsticks I own! It glides on so creamy and smooth yet sits matte on the lips. It is not drying like the liquid lipsticks and hence are not transfer proof. My lips don't beg for a lip balm or feel super parched even after 4-5 hours. Lasts almost 5-6 hours on me. [A little less if I have a greasy meal] Later leaves a pretty even tint.

The color goes on rich and opaque in one swipe itself. The best thing I love about this lippie is that it hides all the lines and cracks on my lips and makes 'em look smooth and flawless. Please note, the time I was swatching these lippies, my lips were as dry as a desert.

Very comfortable to wear. This shade suits all skin tones and brightens the face. With a hint of pink blush it is perfect for fall/winter!

Buy it here.

 4) Loreal Paris in Arabian Night
[Price: Rs.899/-]

Soo, this one's not for the faint hearted. On first glimpse it gives a bold vampy look but once you get over the initial impact, you see the beauty and uniqueness in this. It really is a very classy shade. It is a rich deep maroon with subtle chocolate hints in it. I love it! Frankly I don't get to wear this shade too often. I'm really looking forward to wearing it this winter. This is definitely my New Year's party shade... if I do go to one this year, that is!
The Loreal Moist Matte lipsticks are very comfortable to wear. True velvet matte in texture and very light. After a while I don't even feel like I'm wearing lipstick. Also very long lasting. This does not emphasize dry skin or lines but it's always better to scrub your lips before putting a matte lippie for a flawless finish.

Buy it here.

5) Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip cream in 42
[Price: Rs. 150-200/-]

Enough said about these lippies already! They're a craze and for all the right reasons. The quality of these lip creams at this price is unbelievable. If I could, I'd buy every shade available. Well I already own 15 shades *guilty*. Check out some of the shades shown here.

Shade 42 is one of the recent releases. And I think it's very different and a flattering shade. The pictures don't really do justice to the colour. It's a maroon with red undertone and slight hints of brown too. Those afraid to wear red can start with this. It's a bright yet not an on-your-face kinda shade. Will suit all kinds of skin tone.

6) Incolor Matte Me in shade 415
[Price: Rs.250/-]
Dupe of Sleek Matte me. This shade is apparently a dupe of the shade Birthday Suit. Please don't quote me, since I do not own any Sleek matte me-s. But from the swatches online, this shade does look quite similar. Typical Liquid lipstick, which sets in completely matte. Once set, does not budge. It is very long lasting. Stays on me for good 6-7 hours. However after 4-5 hours my lips get so dry and patchy that I need a lip balm by then. These are difficult to re apply. I need to rub off the entire lipstick and then re-apply. Coz', it gets very patchy and crumbly after hours of wear. It does emphasize every line and crack on the lip. Hence exfoliation before applying this is a must!
Still if you are a fan of liquid lipsticks but don't want to spend thousands on it, this is a very good cheap option. I especially love the color. This shows up as a deep nude with mauve undertones on me

[Price: Rs.260/-]

LOVE the shade. It's a purple shade with pink neon undertone. This lippie has probably earned me the most no. of compliments. I think purple shades suit indian skintones beautifully. Shades like these seem very high end. It's awesome that Lakme is coming up with such beautiful shades!

The texture is creamy but sets in a creamy matte finish. Very long lasting. The shade is quite close to MAC Heroine. Not the texture though. These are best if you wanna try out some daring shades. Not too expensive to feel the pinch. Frankly I like these much better than the bomb expensive ones.

[Price:Rs.450/-]

An everyday nude. Has peachy undertone. Creamy finish. Glides on smoothly. Westside has come up with some really good quality lipsticks. These are not as long lasting coz' of the creamy texture but stays on me for 3-4 hours. After which, I need to reapply. These look very rich and luxurious on the lips

I tend to gravitate more towards purples and mauves rather than pinks these days. Nudes are always there. And i'm going super dark this year rather than red.

Here's a collected look at all them together:
