Lets just say Nykaa is killing it with their new makeup range. The Nail Lacquers and Lipsticks are all so amazingly drool worthy. I binged in a couple of polishes, especially for the unique shades. 

But I am on a lipstick ban. So I have been a good girl and controlled on the lipsticks... as yet.

I am super impressed with the quality of Nykaa polishes. The shades look opaque after 1-2 coats and dry relatively soon. For the price, it has amazing formula. And the shades... Oh my! 

I remember watching Youtubers use Essie polishes and get so envious. But thankfully Nykaa has brought some amazing shades [pastels, brights, neons and now matte!] in India at a reasonable cost.  

I had to get Lavender Panna Cota the minute it was out. And I sure wasn't disappointed. I love the shade! It turns matte quite immediately and dries relatively fast.

The laquer stayed fresh- like on my nails for 3 days. It started chipping after that. But no polish stays on me more than that. With a toddler around, I always have to be hands on!

Maybelline SuperStay Gel nail Color - Mint For LIfe

 I finally found my perfect Mint polish!!
I'm in love!! Yeah no surprises here.
I'm currently obsessed with Mint...can you tell?

I bought 2 of these polishes- Mint for life and Uptown Blue. Now I want them ALL. There's a shade called Rose Poudre...you're gonna be mine soon!

The first thing that impressed me was the pigmentation. Being a pastel shade, I expected the color to be a little patchy and sheer. But it's amazing. For such a light color, 2 coats seemed enough for a flawless finish. I really like this with just one coat too. Gives a much softer look, provided my application is smooth enough.

Secondly, the brush applicator!! I'm sorry I have not included the applicator close-ups [I shall update them soon]

It is broad and flat and so good quality! It makes the application super easy.

Thirdly, it dries in seconds! By the time I'm done with one coat on all fingers, the polish is dry and I can immediately go for the second coat. It literally dries within a minute or so!

About the Super Stay 7 days claim- I am a very hands-on person. I'm always peeling and scratching stuff. Especially with a 7 months toddler around, ladies, lets just say it's a lot of work.

Well, the polish on my right hand messed up the very next day. However, after 5 days of extreme abuse, most of it still stayed.
 I was very impressed with how it stayed on my left hand!!
This was without any top coat mind you!

Regarding the Gel Nail claim-  I have never used a gel nail polish before. But the finish of this is definitely more glossy and feels very luxurious. 

I love all the shades they've come up with. Vibrant, nudes, pastels!! I want them all!
Maybelline has completely spoiled me for any other polishes after this! I can't be bothered to wait for the polish to dry now!

Price: Rs.350/- [Quite expensive for my like. But it's definitely worth it.]

I’ve been completely sucked into the pastel nail craze and I love it! I can’t help but buy every pastel shade I see. So ofcourse I had to buy this one from StudioWest.

A pale almost white with a hint of pink in it. It was love at first sight.

On first application it comes out quite sheer. The bottle says to apply 2 coats but I needed 3 coats for an opaque finish. I can’t be sure whether the other colours go sheer or opaque in 1 coat since this is the only shade I’ve tried. It dries decently soon. I checked my nails within 4-5 mins, and it was completely set.

 [You know how, sometimes a polish looks and feels dry when lightly touched and then smudges when you continue with your life!!  Exasperating.]

So this was “completely” dried within 4-5 mins which I think is ok. Ofcourse the Maybelline’s Express finish Polishes have set the bar way too high on the setting front for other brands. But otherwise, this fares decently.

What I like about this polish is even though I put 3 coats without waiting too much in between, it did not clump. Not one bit. Clumping is a problem I face with the Colorshow nail paints.

The colour is very similar to Maybelline Color Show in Constant candy. Only Constant candy is more opaque in one coat but clumps like crazy on second or more coats.

StudioWest I feel is more glossy. I personally prefer the StudioWest to Colorshow with respect to this particular shade.

I was dying to get my hands on some Studio West makeup. For those who don’t know yet, it’s been a few months that Westside launched their makeup line. They also have a bath and body range which was launched a year back.

I have used their body butters and body washes before and I quite liked them. So, I was pretty excited about their makeup line. They have 2 range - Pure Passion (Nudes/Everyday wear) and Maaya (glitter/shimmer).

The face products were at 15% off. Also with 2 face products, I got a makeup remover free.

Flawless Finish Makeup  {Price –Rs.550/-}

 Basically a lightweight foundation. Sadly they only have 4 shades. My shade is 01.

 The 4 shades only cater to the medium ranged skin tones. 

However I really like the packaging. A tube form with a pump! 

Flawless Finish Compact {Price –Rs.495/-}

My buy –Rs.420/-

I got it in the shade 02, to get a more natural finish.

The powder is super milled. Feels quite buttery and soft.  I'm really looking forward to using this.

Pure Passion Makeup Remover {Price- Rs.245/-}

I got this free with the foundation and compact.

Irresistible Lipstick in Hint of Brick  {Price -Rs.295/-}

 These have a creamy finish.

Long Lasting Lipstick in Honey Glaze {Price- Rs.495/-}

The finish of this range is semi-matte. 

Cashmere Chubby Lipstick  {Price – Rs.495/-}

These are glossy in finish. Lip balmy texture.

Eye Liner in Expresso Delight {Price –Rs.295/-}

It is extremely smooth and creamy. Does not tug at the eye. The color payoff in just one swipe is amazing. It is quite long lasting. Really excited about this one.

Vivid Nail Colour in Cotton Candy {Price – Rs.145/-}

It’s a pastel powder pink color. The color is very similar to Maybelline’s color show nail paint in constant candy. Let's hope it turns well on the nails and not as clumpy as color show one. Reasonably priced for the quantity.

Radiance Aloe Vera & Green Apple Body Spray {Price - Rs.195/-; 150ml } 

 Has a fresh fruity Green Apple fragrance. I usually don't like fruity scents but somehow this does not smell artificial but very fresh.

Ibiza Power Pour Femme {Price - Rs.995; 100ml } 

The first notes are very fruity. A berry bubblegum-y scent. Settles into a warm vanilla note (which i like). This is not my usual preference for scents. I usually like more musky and oriental. And stay away from floral or fruity. But I'm a sucker for vanilla notes. So thought of giving it a try. Plus I loved the bottle. It is so bright and pretty!

Something I want to stress on... Cheers to Indian brands bringing in good quality #SupportIndianMake

My Favourite Winter Polishes

This is just gonna be a short.. only pictures and no blabber kinda post. I’ll be showing my current favorite polishes for the winter. I’m usually into nudes during colder season as you’ll notice in the pictures.       

      

     

                

So from the right-

  1)  Maybelline Colour Show Cinderella Pink – Love this shade! It’s a pretty shell colored polish (I think so!) which looks sooo pretty with everything. Be it casuals or party wear.  

     

      2)        Maybelline Colour Show Silk Stockings - It’s basically the shade nude skin with shimmers in it. Only a tad bit pinker.

3)       Maybelline Colour Show Nude Skin – A basic must have nude shade. Love. Check out the shade HERE

     4)      Maybelline Colour Show Chrome Pink – Like the name suggests, a Metallic chromatic pink shade.

     5)      Maybelline Colour Show Crazy Berry – Yes. Finally a dark winter shade. I’m really digging the deep purple this month more than wine or plum shades. Any more than 2 coats of this looks almost black. But one can make out the tinge of purple in sunlight. 

      6)      Surbhi Cedar – Got this from a street shop in Pune (MG road). So not sure if this is available anywhere else. It’s a beautiful metallic shade of blue. I especially love to wear it on my toe nails. Check out the shade HERE

     7)      Colorama Paixao – A deep red shade. Not grabbing it too much. But winter’s the only season I feel like wearing red nails… *Xmassyyy*

8) BK Super Matte Surface Oil – LOVE this! It’s a top coat that you wear on a different polish and it turns the shade matte! This certainly deserves a separate post. 

I have sooo many more but these were the ones I've been using this season.

Perfectly Nude! Polish of the month...

This will be a quick post. Here's a nail colour I'm loving a lot recently. I've been looking for a perfect nude and I think I've just found it! It's really difficult to find "your nude" if you know what i mean. if it's too light, it looks ashy or dead and if it's too dark, well... it only looks brown.

 Many girls i know, don't like to wear nude on their nails. But I think it makes your hand look more neat (?!?) if that makes sense and Oh-so- Classy. 

 It just goes with everything! Office, party or just a day out. It wont clash with anything you wear.

Nude Polish

I got this polish from New U. It's the shade 12- Burnt Siena

The polish goes on smooth. It's almost opaque in 2 coats. But i prefer 3. The polish is not too runny neither too thick. it's quite easy to work with. However takes some time to dry completely.  I donot have a top coat on the the Polish in these pictures. It's been almost 6 months that i bought the polish but the consistency or the formulation hasn't changed, unlike my Lakme polishes.

Downside: The availability is an issue. If you guys know where to find New U polishes online or in Kolkata, please lemme know in the comments below....pretty please.
