My top 3 Eye Pencils | For Oily lids

Hey there! If you've been with me a while, you'll already know, I have small hooded lids and extremely oily lids, which let me tell you is the worst combination EVER!

Most of the liners smudge on me in flat 2 hours. Let's not even talk ask about summers. I prefer skipping kohl/liner altogether during summers for that reason. After testing boat loads of eyeliners I finally have my favourite Top 3!

Plum NaturStudio All Day Wear Kohl – Price: Rs.425/- 1.2 gm

Look of a gel liner in a pencil form. It claims to be Smudgeproof, Waterproof and Preservative free.

1)      Blackest black in one stroke.

2)      Preservative-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free, paraffin-free

3)      Dermatologically  and ophthalmologically tested & approved. Does not hurt my sensitive eyes.

4)      Rich in Vitamin E for care and protection

5)      100% vegan formula, not tested on animals

6)      Ingredients -Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Rice Bran Wax, Natural Vitamin E

7)      The expiry date is mentioned on the pencil itself.

8)      Quantity is quite a lot in comparison to other pencils in the market hence justifies the price.

Issues –

1)      Needs to be sharpened.

Essence Gel Waterproof Liner – Price: Rs. 299/-      0.57g

 It’s been almost 6 months that I discovered this beauty. This is the only product I have used from this brand. However I need to get more from this brand since I’ve heard rave reviews. I am already on my second pencil  [black]and I also bought a brown shade.  

1)      Very pigmented.

2)      Soft and does not tug at the eyes since it’s a gel formula in pencil form.

3)      Stays put on my waterline all day with minimum smudging under the eyes. It starts smudging only after 9-10 hours during summers.

4)      Retractable mechanical pencil. No fuss no wastage.

Issues -

1)        Re-application is not ideal. It sets very fast and any re-application removes the colour already set.

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer - Price: Rs.345/-   0.28 gm

1) Retractable liner on one side and a smudger on the other.

2) An even finish and smooth in one stroke. Not as dark as above 2 but dark enough.

3) Love using this to create an easy smokey eyes.

4) Once set, stays in put.

Issues- 

1) No particulars/ingredients mentioned.

I love the Plum natur kohl since it is great for my sensitive eyes minus all the chemicals, however I mostly always reach for Essence or Rimmel ‘coz I’m always running late for work and never have time to sharpen eye pencils #lazygirlwoes  Again none of the liquid liners stay on my lids. [The only one that did, got discontinued L Maybelline’s HyperSharp Liner] Also pencils are easier to draw with.

One complaint I have with these  pencils is I can’t draw a thin line or a cat-eye with this. The nib remains too blunt [Still on the find for a good liquid/ felt tip liner]. Any suggestions guys???

Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in Plum Yum Swatch and Review

A fair warning, I personally am not a fan of liquid lipsticks. I have super dry and chapped lips. So extreme that they bleed and actually hurt! It's kinda gross. Moreover I don't like the lines showing up on my lips which usually happens with liquid lipsticks. Not a cute look. And then it goes all crumbly after few hours. So the situation gets like, I can't re-apply on it 'coz it just gets gross-ier. Frankly I can't take the pain to carry a makeup remover wherever I go in case I need to re-apply it. As a result, I usually avoid wearing liquid lipstick when I know I'll be out for long (which negates the entire claim about liquid lippies)

Sugar Cosmetics has come out with another range this new year. Ofcourse it HAS to be a liquid lipstick. This range has 10 shades. I love the Matte as Hell Crayon Lipsticks and It's a-pout time vivid lipsticks. So obviously I had to try the liquid lipstick to see if they could keep up to their own standards! *not becoz I'm a hopeless shopaholic ofcourse!*

I am quite impressed that they have priced this range quite reasonably. However I am kinda upset with the packaging. These look exactly like Maybelline's Color Sensational Velvet matte lipsticks. Got to say the Maybelline ones are far more sturdier.

This feels very light and plastic-ky in hand. I find the applicator very wobbly. The sponge is soft enough and does not poke the lips or anything but it's very bendy. It has a round bottom (unlike many wands) which I'm guessing holds the excess product and hence keeps the wand clean, also saves wastage of the product. Let's see if I'm right about that.

These are NOT silicone or paraben free, if you're particular about that.

Now coming to main part. The product is sweet smelling. Not chemical-y thankfully, which lots of liquid lippies tend to have.

The actual product looks nothing like in the tube when applied on the lips or even on the hand.

Just one dip was enough for, my entire lips and the desired pigmentation. I did not have to dip the wand twice. Do you see the lip swatch below? That's just one layer of product.
 It dried completely matte very quickly and once dried, it literally is smudge proof. 

Smudge Proof, Transferproof, Waterproof. Fades just a little after having an oily meal. 

The product is sooo light on the lips. Half the time I forget I have this on. I had this on for almost 7-8 hours. By the end of 6-7 hours, it started fading. I took it off 'coz I was done for the day. But it would've easily lasted for another hour at the least. 
Best of all, even after 8 hours, it did not completely dry my lips or give that gross stretchy feeling. Nor did it crumble. My lips were comfortable and I could do without a lip balm.

Please excuse the blurred not so great quality pic above, since these were taken in not so appropriate lighting. But just to give you an idea about the pigmentation and stay. I wore the lipstick at 2:00pm and washed it off at 10:00pm. Between which I had oily meals, snacks, loads of water and also kissed my baby say a million times. And I did not re-touch it.

The shade Plum Yum, I feel is so versatile. It'll look great on every skin tone. And will go with everything.

 I really want to try the shade 'Tan fan' and 'Rust Lust' too..oooh! and 'Brazen Raisin'!

These lippies are LOVE! Maybe they've cut on the packaging cost to provide a better quality product. If so, I'm all for it. The quality of these can give some of the best liquid lipsticks a run for their money and that includes the high end ones too.

Definitely give these a try. Sugar Cosmetics never seem to let down. More power to Indian brands!!

Plum Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturiser

 It's been a while that I bought my Plum goodies. Check out the entire Plum Haul here.

Plum is a brand exclusively found online. They have their own site and are also available on Nykaa. However keep an eye on their own site, since they keep having some good deals.

Plum claims to be sans all harmful chemicals. Please note, they donot claim to be a natural/herbal product. All ingredients are mentioned in their packaging along with what's NOT in it.

I use this when I'm home and have no plans of going out since it has no SPF in it. 

It is of a creamy texture - not too thick nor too thin. But here in Kolkata, even the lightest creams can be a greasy torture. But this moisturizes my skin well minus an oily film on my face. 

Especially with the improving weather, this feels very light and sinks into the skin quickly. I have extremely sensitive and combination skin type. Been using this over a month now and it has not broken me out.

The squeeze-y tube is perfect for traveling.

My skin does not feel overtly moisturized but it does the trick for good 3-4 hours. 

It does claim to be perfect for dry and sensitive skin. I agree for sensitive skin but it might not work too well in very cold weather for very dry skin.

But for oily/combination skin, this could be blessing!

Personally I think it's a tad bit costly for a moisturizer but if you have sensitive skin then this could be worth a try.

Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Face Wash Review | Short and Sweet

Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Face Wash: [Rs.345/-]

 I'm done with this tube! 

• It's clear, gel based with green tea minuscules in it which burst when rubbed in. 
• Meant for oily and acne prone skin 
• It foams pretty well. 
• It cleanses my face without drying it out. I don't get that stretchy feeling after, which is always a good thing. 
• It hasn't broken me out or irritated my skin.

I have combination skin type. However it's intolerably humid in Kolkata so I'm oily most of the times these days. 

I use this twice a day MAX. 

Frankly I can't say much on the "pore cleansing" claim since I can't make too much of a difference. 

But it's a good mild facewash. Considering it is sans all harmful chemicals, it definitely delivers what it claims.

 I really want to try the "aloe" variant next.

PLUM Goodness HAUL!

It's been so long since I last posted! Being a working mommy to a 10months old toddler is DIFFICULT! To say the least. All you super moms out there..Hats Off!

Plum is a newly launched Indian brand. They proudly claim to have NO Parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, SLS, DEA, PABA and no animal derived ingredients. 

I picked up 4 of their skin care products which was highly rated on their website and I've been dedicated to them for almost over a month now.

Firstly I adore cheeky stuff. This seems like a very clean sophisticated packaging until you pay attention to the cute written details here and there. Also the insides of the packaging is adorable! It's sophisticated outside and fun inside!! Love!

Plum Goodness skincare

1) Plum Green Tea Pore Cleansing Face Wash: [Rs.345/-]

It is a clear, gel based cleanser with green tea minuscules in it which burst when rubbed in. It is meant for combination, oily and acne prone skin. But I think it'll suit all skin types. I'm nearly done with this one.

2) Plum Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturiser: [Rs.450/-]

A light gentle everyday moisturizer. Meant for normal, dry and sensitive skin types. The squeeze-y tube is perfect for traveling. However I wish it had some SPF in it.   

3) Plum Grape seed & Sea Buckthorn Nurturance Night Cream: [Rs.525/-]

Great for normal, dry and mildly combination skin. Not recommended for oily or acne-prone skin. I love this for summers. It immediately sinks in my skin and turns matte. But keeps my face moisturized all night.

4) Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask: [Rs.475/-]

This one definitely needs a post of its own. Meant for Combination, Oily, Acne prone skin. I use this once a week as suggested. It tingles quite a bit at the start. Is it weird to think that means it's actually working??

P.S: I also have the Plum kajal (Droool!). I couldn't find it at the moment hence not included in the above pic :| 

All the products smell fresh and light. I can't wait to try the remaining products. Definitely give it a try! There's something for every skin type.  

It is sans all the harmful chemicals, actually works, kinda affordable. And it comes in cute packaging. Needless to say... I love it!
